Water is such an extremely fundamental right that it seems strange that everyone doesn’t have access to it. It is SDG 6. Many countries are are water stressed and many people don’t have access to safe drinking water.

This growing water deficit is fast pushing Pakistan towards water poverty in the coming decades – a severe challenge for the government and policymakers. Without a sustainable and holistic water strategy and effective policymaking, a lot more cities and towns in the country will suffer the same fate as Cape Town. Perhaps even worse.

Before this, when people talked about water on Mars, it was with reference to ancient or frozen water. Earlier this year the Curiosity Rover detected the possibility of salty water below the surface, however the MRO discovery is the first evidence for the presence of liquid water in the present time.
